Ingvar Wixell, en av 1900-talets ledande operasångare inom barytonfacket, är död. Han blev 80 år. Finalen hölls på Cirkus i Stockholm den 13 februari 1965, där melodin "Annorstädes vals", framförd av Ingvar Wixell vann, genom att ha fått högst totalpoäng av jurygrupperna. Formatet med endast en finalkväll behölls, däremot gjordes flera förändringar bl.a. att man lät en artist (Ingvar Wixell) framföra samtliga bidrag i finalen (totalt sex stycken). Ingvar Wixell föddes 7 maj 1931 i Luleå.
